A new iPhone 7 concept image features the edge screen display seen in Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.
The latest render was created by concept designer Hasan Kaymak who designed a wide range of devices. This time, Kaymak posted his most recent work in crowdfunding website Kickstarter in order to solicit funds for his project.
According to Concept Phones, the iPhone 7 concept image packs a screen panel with rounded edges and eliminates the surrounding bezels. Just like in Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, the curved edge will serve as dock of opened and running apps and features. Moreover notifications will be shown on the curved edge.
The metal casing is made out of aluminum chassis, which is similar to the protective cases of previous iPhones. Taiwanese media source Economic Daily News reported that the next iPhone will allegedly pack the customized Series 7000 casing, which is 60 percent stronger than the usual material used by Apple. The Series 7000 is the same material used in Apple Watch.
Other features were not detailed in the Kickstarter page, but rumors suggested that iPhone 7 will pack Force Touch technology. This will allegedly make the screen more sensitive to touch and will yield to easy controls. Other purported features of the handset are DSLR-quality camera, light field imaging, iOS 9 software and A9 processor.
It is still unknown whether the next iPhone will be named as iPhone 7 or iPhone 6S or iPhone 6S Plus. Consumers should expect a pair of smartphones to be released this year just like last year.
Reports are saying that the tech company is following its previous release date pattern and will launch the new iPhone in the fall. Meanwhile, other publications state that Apple will hold an earlier release of the handset this summer. However, Apple has not confirmed nor denied the aforementioned rumors.
