The first season of "The Flash" ended with a shocking twist. Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett) died after he shot himself. However, there are rumors now suggesting that Eddie could return in season 2 and he could even transform into the Reverse Flash or Cobalt Blue.
According to IB Times, there is a possibility for Eddie to return next season especially since season 1 saw him as nothing but an incompetent man who cannot even marry Iris.
Also according to the publication, Eddie was featured with a ring hanging around his neck just minutes before he took his own life in season 1. Although some fans are speculating that this could be nothing more than his engagement ring, others are hinting that this could be the Reverse Flash ring.
The same ring was used by Eobard Thawne for his yellow costume, thus heightening speculations that Eddie could also return and join the dark side.
Meanwhile, "The Flash" executive producer Andrew Kreisberg previously confirmed that Tom Cavanagh will still be part of season 2 and if this is the case, this means Cavanagh will continue to play the role of Reverse Flash or Cobalt Blue, Crossmap reported.
In other news, "The Flash" lead star Grant Gustin, who plays the role of Barry Allen, recently revealed that season 2 will feature different timelines and introduce new speedsters and meta-humans.
With this, fans could not help but wonder how many Barry Allens there will be next season and how each other could impact the other in their decision making processes.
"The Flash" season 2 will return to The CW in the fall.
