According to multiple reports, The Flash has the capability to break the time barrier so next season, Barry's multiverse of parallel Earths will take centerstage.
Also in the multiverse, a different version of the same character could be introduced, thus heightening speculations that new characters with similar superpowers could be featured, Ecumenical News reported.
In an interview with TV Guide, Grant Gustin, who plays the role of Barry Allen/The Flash, confirmed that indeed, the upcoming season will feature multiple timelines.
The actor further teased that the sophomore season will be introducing Earth One and Earth Two.
Meanwhile, fans are also speculating that the hit the CW series could introduce Wally West, Iris' nephew and a future speedster.
In the comics, Wally was introduced as the Kid Flash who recreated Barry's accident in order to acquire his super speed. In the upcoming "The Flash" season 2, Caitlin Snow's alter ego, Killer Frost, could be introduced.
Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg has confirmed the return of Tom Cavanagh's Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawne character. Last season, the character was erased from existence after Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett) shot himself dead.
Also, Kreisberg has teased the possibility of Cosnett's return by saying that not because a character was killed off does it mean they could no longer be resurrected on "The Flash" season 2, which will premiere on the CW in the fall.
