Bryan Singer's upcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse" will feature a scene in Cerebro, which signals a larger role for Professor Charles Xavier in the film.
Singer has posted a photo on his Instagram account and it features the big round room. Its caption is informative, saying "Cerebro is Spanish for brain. #Xmen #XmenApocalypse." It received more than 6,000 likes and more than a hundred comments.
The large and round Cerebro was initially featured in Singer's first "X-Men" film in 2000 and was also seen in the succeeding "X-Men" movies. The existence of the Cerebro in "X-Men: Apocalypse" indicated Professor X's larger role in the film, as per Cinema Blend.
Some concept artworks that were released before showed some changes on the device's design, but Singer's recent photo indicates that it will stick with its look as in the previous films, as per Comic Book Resources.
Cerebro is known as Professor Xavier's machine that is used to detect mutants across the globe. Eventually, the device was used by Xavier to locate young mutants and enroll them in his School for Gifted Youngsters.
In "X-Men: First Class," Xavier used the Cerebro to locate mutants in vast distances, together with Eric Lenchner. The Cerebro allowed Xavier to recruit the first members of "X-Men."
While the Cerebro serves as an artificial product that is highly capable of finding mutants around the world, a mutant named Caliban was also previously teased to appear in the upcoming film. Caliban is capable of tracking mutants and was recruited by Callisto to form the group called Morlocks.
"X-Men: Apocalypse" stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, and Lucas Till.
The upcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse" will feature Alexandra Shipp, Lana Condor, Sophie Turner, Olivia Munn, Kodi Smit-Mcphee and Tye Sheridan.
"X-Men: Apocalypse" is slated to premiere in theaters on May 27, 2016.
