Apple iPad Air 2 is one of the best selling tablets in the world. But according to UK consumer watchdog Which, Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is the fastest tablet available.
Which examined the top 10 tablets available in the UK that included Tesco Hudl 2, Asus MEMO Pad 7 ME572C, Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5, Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1, Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 2014, Google Nexus 9, Apple iPad mini 3, Apple iPad Air 32GB (Wi-Fi), Apple iPad Air 2 and Microsoft Surface Pro 3 128GB i5.
The company tested the devices using the Geekbench software and found that the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 scored 5069 in the tests and is 20 percent faster than any other tablets being tested. The Apple iPad Air 2 is the second fastest tablet that managed a score of 4046.
The Google Nexus 9 came third with a score of 3537. The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 achieved 2650, Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 scored 2594, Apple iPad Air 32GB (Wi-Fi) achieved 2687 and Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 2014 scored 3060 in the Geekbench processor benchmark score.
Asus MEMO Pad 7 (ME572C) got a score of 2351 and Tesco Hudl 2 received a score of 2084. The iPad mini 3 received a score of 1790. It is also three times slower than the Surface Pro 3.
Richard Headland, Which editor, said that their tablet speed test is a good indication of how fast tablets can run when using multiple functions at once or downloading apps.
He further said that nowadays people expect everything in a click of the button or a swipe, therefore, understanding how fast a tablet is able to process information is very important to purchasers, The Telegraph reported.
