With Peyton Reed's "Ant-Man" going to hit theaters soon, Marvel Studio President Kevin Feige has revealed how Marvel's smallest superhero will shape up Marvel's Phase Three.
Feige told The Hollywood Reporter that Reed's "Ant-Man" film serves as the real culmination of Marvel's Phase Two and it will show the fans a glimpse of what Phase Three holds. He also added that the interplay between quantum realm and going to certain places will also be seen in Marvel's third phase.
Despite of the hero's size-changing abilities, "Ant-Man" is also assumed to be part of other Marvel films, as per Cinema Blend. The tiniest superhero is also bound to appear in Joe and Anthony Russo's "Captain America: Civil War," where he joins the battle between Captain America and Iron Man.
"Civil War" centers on the superhero registration act, a law released by the government, obliging superheroes to submit themselves to the government and to the public. "Ant-Man" joins Iron Man's side, along with War Machine, Vision, and Spider-Man while Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, and Black Widow join Captain America's side.
Aside from the upcoming "Civil War," another possibility for the superhero is his possible appearance in Russo's "Avengers: Infinity War," as the studio expands its Cinematic Universe up to 2019.
"Ant-Man" centers on former thief Scott Lang, who is recruited by Dr. Hank Pym to use his special suit that lets him shrink his size at will and increase his power. The film stars Rudd, Peña, Lilly, Michael Douglas, Corey Stoll, and Bobby Cannavale.
Directed by Reed, "Ant-Man" is set to hit theaters on July 14 while "Captain America: Civil War" is slated to premiere in theaters on May 6, 2016.
