Chile and Peru are statistically two of the best teams in the Copa America 2015 edition and it is truly no surprise that they will be facing each other in the semifinals. Both sides boast off the top two best scorers in the competitions so far in the person of Arturo Vidal for Chile and Paolo Guerrero for Peru with three goals apiece.
The match is set at the Estadio Nacional in Chile's capital city of Santiago, the home stadium of La Roja. The support of the home crowd should again be expected to lift the team in the contest.
Chile's home court advantage and Peru's grittiness will help both squads overcome one another in this expectedly tight matchup.
Jorge Sampaoli's squad is coming off a scandalous 1-0 triumph over defending champions Uruguay, with defender Gonzalo Jara inserting his right middle finger in the anus of La Celeste striker Edinson Cavani. His action resulted in being banned for the rest of the tournament, as reported by NBC Sports' Pro Soccer Talk.
Meanwhile, Peru is going into the semis riding from the momentum of its 3-1 demolition of Bolivia. Guerrero scored a hat trick in the match, but a late goal from striker Marcelo Martins Moreno put La Verde on the board, via Fox Sports.
The predicted result is a close 2-1 win by Chile over Peru. But the projected score could also be the other way around and La Blanquirroja might snatch this one away from the hosts.
