The sequel to the 2012 hit movie, "Magic Mike" has more than the attraction of hot male actors' gyrating chiseled bodies going for it. "Magic Mike XXL" is packed with entertainment value, and some of the male leads, notably Matt Bomer and Joe Manganiello, get their moments to shine by singing pop tunes.
Enlivening the adventure flick are popular songs from the '90s. Bomer, 37, sang songs by Bryan Adams and D'Angelo. "Heaven" and "Untitled (How Does It Feel") were included in the "Magic Mike XXL" soundtrack. Co-star Joe Manganiello, 38, gave his rendition of the Backstreet Boys' "I Want It That Way" while Donald Grove sang the Bruno Mars song "Marry You" that was also included in the soundtrack.
Channing Tatum, who reprises his role as Mike Lane, led the pack in cheering his movie co-stars' singing prowess and dance moves. The "21 Jump Street" actor who will play Gambit in "X-Men: Apocalypse" has been heaping praises on his male co-stars in "Magic Mike XXL." Tatum specifically cited Manganiello for his dancing moves, specifically a strip tease at a gas station convenience store; and Bomer for his singing ability.
Fans and bloggers also tweeted just how much they enjoyed listening to Bomer belt out "Heaven" and were impressed with both Tatum and Mangianello's dancing skills.
The movie soundtrack contains fast tracks and slow, seductive songs that showcase some of the main actors' vocal range, Billboard reported.
In other news, the opening weekend showing of "Magic Mike XXL" was not as impressive as the first movie, though the official trailer garnered so many likes. People did not seem to give a hoot during the movie's actual showing. In any case, "Magic Mike" did well in the south, mid-west and Canada, Deadline reported.
