Kevin Garnett will be returning to Minnesota next season and suiting up for his 21st season in the NBA.

The Timberwolves will be utilizing KG for two more years after the power forward agreed in principle to play for the team again, ESPN reported. The agreement was settled on Tuesday, the same day No. 1 draft pick Karl-Anthony Towns signed a contract with the Wolves.

Garnett's 2015-16 contract, which is expected to be inked later this week, will place Garnett in an exclusive group of players who have played 21 years in the league - the longest in the NBA. Robert Parish and Kevin Willis being the other two, noted Fox Sports.

"I'm incredibly excited and rejuvenated to be part of this talented, committed team," Garnett told KSTP Sports as quoted by ESPN.

The 2004 NBA Most Valuable Player has spent most of his career with the Timberwolves. The team drafted him fifth in 1995 and he played 12 seasons for the Wolves. He then spent seven and a half years with Boston Celtics and the Brooklyn Nets before returning to Minnesota. It is likely Garnett will end his career with the team.

Should the 15-time NBA All Star continue for two more seasons, he will be playing past his 40th birthday. However, should he decide to hang his jersey after the NBA 2015-16 season, The Minneapolis Star Tribune reveals that a management position with the team is his next step.

Starting for 42 games last season, Garnett averaged 6.9 points per game, 6.6 rebounds and 0.4 blocks in 20.3 minutes of play.
