Nick Gordon, boyfriend of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown's only child, Bobbi Kristina Brown, has been officially served with the $10 million lawsuit on July 12, Sunday.
The lawsuit is filed on behalf of the celebrity child by her court-appointed conservator, Bedelia Hargrove, who has accused Gordon of physical abuse and extreme emotional distress leading her the preset state. The 22-year-old is lying unconscious since Jan.31, after being found drowned in the bathtub of her Georgia home and is barely clinging to her life.
Gordon was coming out of Starbucks in Longwood, Florida, when he was approached by a process server. The 25-year-old looked confused as the woman shoved a yellow-colored envelope in his hand without saying a word, as seen in the video obtained by New York Daily News.
Gordon chose to sit on a chair and flip through his mobile cell while the envelope remained unopened in the video. Almost three weeks earlier, Bobbi Kristina's family was reported to be preparing for the lawsuit targeting him. Apart from physical abuse charges, the lawsuit also accuses him of money laundering, even after the hospitalization of the celebrity child.
Meanwhile, it is reported that Gordon has assembled a well-known team of legal advisors to face the lawsuit. He has hired Atlanta criminal defense attorney Joe Habachy as his head lawyer, while famous attorney Jose Baez, who is known for serving as the lead defense attorney for Casey Anthony, and T.J. Ward, known for his investigation into the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, have joined in too, ET reported.
