Many third party software providers were not happy about the latest Windows 10 update, one of like Mozilla, which claims that Microsoft makes it hard for users to switch to other Internet browser.
Mozilla, developer of Internet browser Firefox, CEO Chris Beard sent an open letter to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella via the official Mozilla blog saying, "I am writing to you about a very disturbing aspect of Windows 10. Specifically, that the update experience appears to have been designed to throw away the choice of your customers have made about the Internet experience they want, and replace it with the Internet experience Microsoft wants them to have."
Beard is pointing out that Microsoft makes it hard for users to choose default program especially in browsing the web. Windows 10's new default browser is called the Microsoft Edge and replacing it with the likes of Firefox or Chrome takes more effort and a little bit trickier especially for new users.
According to Engadget, in order to change the default browser on Windows 10, users need to check the box that pops asking them if they want to change their default browser. This usually appears the first time they launch a browser like Chrome of Firefox. Next, they have to find Web browser in the Settings page and look for the Microsoft Edge icon in order to find other browsers that will appear in the drop-down menu.
Despite the complaint from Mozilla, Microsoft said that it will only remove or alter features on the Windows 10 operating system when its users want it to be removed or changed.
