Director Bryan Singer recently gave fans a hint on how Archangel's wings will look like in his upcoming superhero film "X-Men: Apocalyspe".
Singer has shared a photo on his official Instagram account, holding what was assumed to be one of the feathers of the flying mutant Angel. He called it an "air guitar," which was followed by hashtags #archangel, #xmen, and #xmenapocalypse.
In April, Singer told Empire that Angel will be part of his upcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse" and will be played by Ben Hardy. Along with his revelation, the director also teased Angel's concept art that the flying mutant would not be a "very nice Angel." Angel has been reported to be one of Apocalypse's Four Horsemen, along with Storm, Psylocke, and Magneto. It has been revealed that Angel is Death while Famine, War, and Pestilence are yet to be confirmed.
With the human alter ego Warren Worthington III, Angel was recruited by titular villain Apocalypse by offering to give back the mutant's wings in exchange for becoming one of his Four Horsemen. Angel agreed and was endowed with razor-like metallic wings, which are able to cut almost anything. However, the mutant grew back his old non-metallic wings after he escaped from Apocalypse's manipulation.
While Hardy as Angel will be seen having metallic wings like the one Director Singer was holding in his Instagram photo, no official photo of Hardy as Angel has been revealed yet. Also, exact details on whether Singer's cinematic Angel will mirror the character in the comics remain unconfirmed, as per Cinema Blend.
Along with Hardy, Oscar Isaac is playing the role of titular villain Apocalypse. "X-Men: Apocalypse" also stars Ian McKellen, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Hugh Jackman, Nicholas Hoult, Lucas Till, Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Evan Peters, Lara Condor, Tye Sheridan, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Olivia Munn, Josh Helman and Rose Byrne, among others.
Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on May 27, 2016.
