"House of Payne" actor Lance Gross took to Instagram to tease his enthusiasm on the character Green Lantern.
Gross shared a photo on his official Instagram account. The photo shows green and white leaves that show a Green Lantern symbol. With a caption "In Brightest Day," Gross' photo got more than 4,000 likes and more than 200 comments.
Instagram user thesonofbaldwin said that Gross' photo signals a suitable casting as Green Lantern. Meanwhile, user caige_inc385 said in his comment that the "House of Payne" actor would be prodigious for playing a John Stewart version of the Emerald Knight. Another Instagram user, bosslogix, speculated that the actor could play Hal Jordan.
According to Cinema Blend, Gross was considered as a cast member for the action sci-fi television series "Luke Cage," however, he was not chosen so he is exploring the possibility for "Green Lantern."
Green Lantern is the seventh member of the Justice League and at the moment, the other six members of the superhero team have their respective actors for the roles, especially in Zack Snyder's upcoming "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."
The Emerald Knight is reported to be played by "Fast and Furious" actor Tyrese Gibson, but this has yet to be confirmed. This means that Gross is a possible contender for the role of the superhero in green suit. Gibson is known for his role in the "Fast and Furious" action film franchise while Gross is known for his character Ethan in Shonda Rhimes' medical drama television series "Grey's Anatomy."
In July, Warner Bros. confirmed that the "Green Lantern" film is entitled "Green Lantern Corps." The film has no director and screenwriter yet and the title implies that fans will see a number of Green Lantern in the big screen, as per Movie Web. Exact plot details have yet to be revealed.
"Green Lantern Corps" is slated to premiere in theaters on June 19, 2020.
