"True Detective" Season 2 is only one episode away from its finale that is expected to unravel the mystery of Ben Caspere's murder and reveal the killer. Meanwhile, several theories about the killer's identity are floating around. One of the most popular theories on social media suggests that the killer of Vinci's city manager is Laura. Read on to find out the details.
"True Detective" Season 2 Episode 8 titled "Omega Station" will unveil the killer. However, eager fans are already at work, trying to solve the mystery. According to Esquire, Reddit users think Caspere's secretary, Laura is the killer. Users on Post-Episode Discussion thread on the social networking site have reportedly come up with the theory that Laura with an accomplice committed the crime. The girl has two names. She claims to be Erica, but there are people who identify her as Laura.
In Episode 7, the officers identified her as one of the two siblings, whose parents were killed in the 1992 diamond heist that earned Caspere a fortune. It is said, revenge for her parents' death could be the prime reason why Laura would have committed the murder.
The theory further suggests that Laura was not alone, she had a confederate. Fans theorize that the film set photographer, who showed up at the beginning of the season, could be Laura's orphaned brother and together the duo may have executed the plan of revenge. Fans saw Laura and the photographer crossing paths at the movie set, where the car carrying Caspere was stolen, may not be a pure coincidence.
A theory by Uproxx's Tumblr points at Lieutenant Kevin Burris being the killer. Fans will learn who killed the city manager in finale segment (Episode 8) of "True Detective Season 2.
Meanwhile, speaking to Variety, Taylor Kitsch, the actor who portrayed the role of Paul Woodrugh, the patrol officer who was shot in Episode 9, promised a "phenomenal" conclusion to the story.
"I will say it's beautifully, beautifully done, and I tip my hat to all those actors and to Nic and the writing. It's really phenomenal what goes down," Kitsch told the abovementioned publication.
