Microsoft is rumored to be working on a new flagship smartphone, the Surface Phone. This new flagship will be aimed to disturb the popularity of famous phablet flagships like Google Nexus 2015, Galaxy Note 5 and iPhone 6S Plus.
Microsoft Lumia fans are eagerly waiting for the arrival of the Lumia 950 and the Lumia 950 XL flagships. However, speculations are rife that the Redmond giant will be releasing a new phablet that is codenamed as Project Juggernaut Alpha, WM Power User reported.
It states that the handset will be launched with Surface Mobile moniker. Rumors indicate that the handset will be featuring a Clearback AMOLED screen of 5.5-inch. It will be supporting a display resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels.
It will be powered by Intel Atom X3 chipset that contains a 64-bit quad-core processor. The handset will be available in different RAM variants of 3 GB and 4 GB. The Surface Mobile will be available in two internal storage variants of 64 GB and 128 GB. The external storage will support up to 256 GB of microSD.
Like the Galaxy Note 5, the Surface Mobile will be coming with an exclusive Surface Pen stylus, Phone Arena reported. It will also feature a USB Type-C connector.
The rear of the handset will be flanked with PureView technology powered 21 MP Zeiss 6-lens. The front-facing camera will be an 8 MP Zeiss lens that will come with support for wide-angle selfie shooting.
The Surface Mobile will be running on the most recent version of Windows 10 Mobile that carries the build number 10.0.10514.19. It will also come with support for wireless charging. However, the size of the battery for the Surface Mobile is not known yet.
It will be a premium device as its chassis will be made up of aluminum and magnesium unibody. As far as the Surface Mobile release date is concerned, rumors suggest that it may either arrive at the end of this year or early 2016.
