Carmelo Anthony's wife, Lala Anthony was accused of allegedly cheating on the superstar New York Knicks basketball player on Twitter.
Of course, these are all unproven accusations springing from one tweet, coming from Patrice, "baby mama" of Brooklyn based rapper Maino.
The report was broken by gossip site Fameolous which also showed the controversial tweets. Patrice, according to the tweets, claims she has "receipts" and that the father of her baby would love to have an affair with her to gain exposure for his "mixtapes."
Complex weighed in on the issue and the Twitter reactions it elicited. The site stated that the rumor "prooooooobably isn't true." They do not believe that any of the big names involved would even acknowledge it, and it would end up on a pile of sports rumors they collected.
With or without any actual denial (or confirmation) and regardless of the veracity of the claim, the Twitter world already went crazy. The hilarious tweets also featured in the Complex post.
Some of the Twitter posts come from Knicks fans who actually celebrated the possibility. They cite that Tim Duncan was cheated on by his (now estranged) wife in 2014 which is also the year they won the NBA championship.
Other tweets recounted the on-court confrontation Carmelo Anthony had with Kevin Garnett, then with the Boston Celtics. Garnett "sledged" Anthony with the remark that his wife "tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios."
As of this writing and as Complex predicted, no denial or acknowledgement has yet to be issued.
