"Dogma" actor Kevin Smith has expressed his affirmation on Ronda Rousey playing the Marvel's female lead in the upcoming feature "Captain Marvel."
In his interview with TMZ, Smith said that Rousey's photos on her social media platforms look amazing, that there is no need for the people to think. The actor added that the UFC fighter and actress is one of the few stars who would play a superhero who is capable of knocking someone out. He added that we would like it to take place.
According to Cinema Blend, one's appearance in the costume is not directly suggestive of an easy casting. While "Deadpool" actor Ryan Reynolds and "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" actor Ben Affleck looked prodigious in their Green Lantern and Daredevil suits, respectively, these were not the only indicators of the film's success.
Rousey expressed her interest to play the role of Captain Marvel in an interview with Reddit AMA on Aug. 11, which was followed by fan-made stills featuring UFC fighter and actress in a Captain Marvel costume. Rousey is recognized for her roles in various films of the action genre, such as Patrick Hughes action film "The Expendables 3" and James Wan's action-car racing film "Fast and Furious 7.
Also a Marvel fan, Smith is known to star in the reality television series "Comic Book Men" and the adventure comedy film "Dogma." He is set to appear in the comedy film "Clerks III," thriller comedy film "Yoga Hosers," and Christopher Downie's "Shooting Clerks,"
"Guardians of the Galaxy" writer Nicole Perlman and "Inside Out" writer Meg LeFuave are on board to pen the screenplay of Marvel's first female-led film. At this point, details on the film director, the characters and cast, as well as the plot details are yet to be revealed.
Marvel's "Captain Marvel" is slated to hit theaters in the United States on Nov. 2, 2018.
