Owners of Apple's iPhone 6 Plus which have been purchased between the period of September 2014 to January 2015 may have noticed their iSight cameras producing blurry images. If so, the company is offering a free fix if your smartphone's serial number checks out.
Apple's flagship smartphones have sold millions worldwide, with the 5.5" phablet particularly being well received amongst consumers. Both the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus were so hyped up, pre-orders of the devices well exceeded four million within the first 24 hours of it being on the market, setting a new Apple record.
More than 10 million units were sold in the first three days, which is another record.
Not too long ago, Apple offered a free battery replacement for defective batteries on the iPhone 5. This program is similar to that.
This time around it seems that a batch of iSight cameras may be producing blurry photos and "wavy" looking videos due to failing optical image stabilization (OIS), even if the phone was being held still.

After a number of reports had surfaced about the poor image quality, Apple did their homework and discovered a particular component in the iSight hardware to be the culprit. Like the battery program previously, this iSight camera replacement is completely free of charge and is offered globally.
You may need to be in the country of purchase to avail of the service however.
If your smartphone's serial number is included, visit the Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Retail Store nearest you. Alternatively, you may call Apple Technical Support to get advice on the best way to go about getting service.
Apple support has generally been solid and the company isn't shy about recalling some hardware or offering free service if the fault lies with them.
Even if your iPhone 6 Plus isn't eliciting the said symptoms it may be a good idea to check if your particular unit is included in the list anyway.
