The new promo of the much awaited "NCIS" season 13 shows Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) being rolled into surgery because of the multiple gunshot wounds from the last season's finale events.

Fans get their first look at Dr. Cyril Taft (Jon Cryer), who is expected to save Gibbs from dying. The former "Two And A Half Men" star is seen saying "Time to dance Agent Gibbs. Mind if I lead?"

"What I'm looking forward to is seeing his friendship with Gibbs. He's not the kind of guy Gibbs usually takes to," Jon Cryer told Entertainment Weekly, about his character.

Though it has already been revealed that the show has no plans to kill off Gibbs so soon, the new promo creates a hype as Gibbs is shown following his daughter into the light, as his body starts to crash.

The finale of "NCIS" season 12 will more likely have psychological effects on the entire team. Agent Gibbs will be dealing with many things during his recovery, which may result in some conflicts with his co-workers, specifically Agent Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly), who will be leading the team during his absence.

Show runner Gary Glasberg has also confirmed that the upcoming season will have both the agents at odds and that Tony and Gibbs will be working out those issues through the first few episodes of the season.

"He goes through a really traumatic experience, that kind that changes someone," Glasberg told TV Line. "Really, the whole first half of the [premiere] is this emotional roller coaster ride, of Gibbs' surgery."

In other news, the fifth episode in the "NCIS" season 13, will see the fan favorite Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette) using her wits to save the day, while she is all alone in the lab. Glasberg described the said episode as "an Abby/'Die Hard' story," while he stopped short of revealing what kind of problem she will be facing.

"NCIS" season 13 is all set to premiere on Sept. 22
