The Pirate Bay Gottfrid Svartholm was released from prison after he completed his sentence. However, he was arrested soon after he was released. He is set to be extradited to Sweden where he will stay behind bars. However, he will appeal the decision in court.
The founder of The Pirate Bay Svartholm was released from the prison but shortly he was arrested again. Earlier, the Appeal Court found the TPB founder guilty in the hacking of CSC computers and he was sentenced to prison in Denmark.
This new arrest did not come as a surprise noted TorrentFreak. Kristina Svartholm talked to the website and shared that the Swedish Prison and Probation service wanted an arrest warrant for The Pirate Bay founder.
Kristina revealed that the Danish prosecutor told them that he would be given over to the authorities because of the warrant.
"Tuesday this week, two days before his release date (which was officially communicated to him only some two weeks ago) Gottfrid was informed that the Danish prosecutor had decided that he should be handed over because of the warrant."
Now, Gottfrid is ready to appeal in court against this decision and it has to be seen if he will be successful.
If he wins the appeal, he will be allowed to complete his sentence in Denmark, but if he loses then he will be asked to go to Sweden.
However, he won't be able to stay in Denmark after completing his term as he is banned in the country.
Where will The Pirate Bay founder go after completing his sentence? Stay tuned for more updates.
