A man was reportedly taken down just outside the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
Police identified the alleged stalker as Armando Montalvo, a 29-year-old man, who's had a long history of being overly infatuated with WWE Divas.
According to reports by NBC Miami, the deputy had no choice but to neutralize the man who he believed had a knife while charging at the police office near the famed wrestling facility.
Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said Montalvo had life-threatening injuries after sustaining gunshot wounds in Orlando on Monday. A press conference video posted on WFTV state that the deputy attempted to move back about 75 feet before firing his gun.
In addition, Demings later revealed that Montalvo has a court order banning him from being on a WWE property for allegedly stalking another female wrestler in the past. However, the sheriff said this particular order was recent and has not yet been served on the 29-year-old.
One of Armando Montalvo's previous social media posts shows him devotedly fixating over retired WWE Diva, AJ Lee.
The Facebook post revealed a screencap of Montalvo's desktop where the former WWE Diva's midsection was set as the wallpaper with the caption, "She's the finest ghost to ever bang! !! #WWE"
AJ Lee, whose real name is April Mendez-Brooks, retired from the wrestling organization last spring; and is rumored to be pregnant with her husband and former WWE colleague CM Punk.
Armando Montalvo was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Centre after the shooting between 1:40-1:45pm ET.
The recently retired WWE Diva was not at the facility during the incident.
