Gadgets such as sports cameras, drones and wearable cameras augmented the coverage of Beijing’s Sept. 3 parade celebrating the 70th anniversary of victory in World War II.
A video-sharing website called Js7tv, which is used by the People's Liberation Army (PLA), and the military news website of state broadcaster CCTV, released a video using similar devices.
The promotional video showcased a number of shots from small cameras that were attached to military equipment.
One camera was attached to a tank turret while others were installed on the tank's front side and chassis to enable a more close-up view.
Another shot was taken by camera inside the cockpit of a fighter jet to show images of the pilot in flight.
CCTV is planning to air a series of military news and special reports related to the event for three days beginning Sept. 2, from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The special coverage will also highlight participation of foreign military personnel, and a separate program will show the latest weaponry being used by China's armed forces
CCTV will also broadcast certain segments featuring soldiers' lives and the preparations they took for the event.
Zhang Haiqing, chief of the PLA's 65th Group Army, and Chen Hai, one of the flag holders in the parade, will be given the chance to share their personal stories.
CCTV's preparations for the parade have been going on for some time, and prior to the actual event, the broadcaster aired its pre-parade show on Sept. 2 that featured songs about the Second Sino-Japanese War.
