Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has earned himself four Guinness World Records this year. He makes it into the 2016 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records which comes out this month. Many other football personalities broke records this year, including the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
"The Special One" as Jose Mourinho is often called, received a visit from representatives of the Guinness Book of World Records last week. He received the certificates for the four records that he has earned and promptly hung them up in his office in the Chelsea training grounds located in Cobham.
Mourinho's World Records include: "Most Points in a Premier League Season", "Most Champions Leagues Won at Different Clubs," "Youngest Manager to Reach 100 Champions League Games (49 years 12 days)" and "Most Games Unbeaten at Home in the Premier League."
In an interview with Guinness World Records, he expressed his pride and happiness for being recognized for his achievements. "The fact that I can hang these awards in my office is nice. It's something fun and as a kid you could never imagine that one day you would be in Guinness World Records Book," he said.
Meanwhile, when it comes to football records, Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo and FC Barcelona star Lionel Messi can never be left out. Both players also made it into this year's book. Ronaldo has earned the record for "Most Hat-tricks in the Spanish Primera Liga (27)." He is also the "Most Followed Athlete and Person on Facebook and Twitter."
Messi now hold the record for the "Most Champions League Goals." He has now scored 77 goals in the top flight of European club competition.
Other big stars and lesser-known players also made it into the book. One interesting record is held by Sao Paulo goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni, who managed to score 124 goals for his club. A feat that even some midfielders are unable to achieve.
One of the most trivial and non-football related records held by a footballer is the "Fastest time To Drink A Cup of Hot chocolate," held by Jamie Redknapp. He did it in only 5.14 seconds.
The 2016 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records will hit shelves on September 10.
