Verizon recently announced that it will be rolling out Android Lollipop 5.1.1 for LG Vista.
This mid-range phablet was launched last year with Android KitKat version 4.4.4 out of the box. Therefore, the phablet seems to skipping the Android Lollipop 5.0 update entirely, and jumping straight to Android Lollipop 5.1.1. The official update is now up on Verizon's website, stating the roll out will be done over the air, very soon.
The new software version will be VS88023A, bringing many new changes to the devices, according to GSM Arena. The Android buttons will be software-rendered, sporting an entirely new design. The lock screen notifications will now show up and the Smart Lock will now use trusted devices in order to auto unlock the device.
"Screen Pinning" will also be made available after the update, which will let the users to lock the display to a single app. In addition, the "Settings" will now be searchable, and the Wi-Fi connectivity will be more enhanced. Many unnamed security patches will also be included with this upgrade. This update will also remove the "Stage Fright" bug from the device.
In other news, Android Marshmallow release is imminent in the next couple of months. Google Nexus 5 2015 will come equipped with this upcoming Android Marshmallow out of the box. It will enhance the battery life and also improve the user experience of the device, according to BGR.
Android Marshmallow is also expected to come with Android Pay, which will provide competition to Apple Pay. Android Marshmallow is also rumored to have automatic app data backup facility and customized app permissions.
