The upcoming "Once Upon A Time" season 5 has left fans wondering what will happen with Emma as the new Dark One and probably who she was initially, which may turn out to be fortunate for Emma's close allies. However, that will not mean that there will be no problem eminent in addition to a new face coming back for the new season.
At the end of season 4, so as to save Regina from the Darkness, Emma was involved, and as her friends and family stood aloof, disappeared, leaving behind the Dark One's dagger inscribed with a new name - Emma Swan. Dishing on the introduction of Camelot was the Apprentice informing them they had to look for Merlin to combat the Darkness.
There is a new sneak peek for season 5 from ABC unveiling what will happen immediately after the disappearance of Emma, leaving behind the dagger, and in the middle of the conversation of what it implies and whether she is still good, Hook tries to call her using the dagger. When she fails to appear, Regina says, "She's not in this world."
Although what is expected from the Dark Swan is a little bit weird, co-creator Adam Horowitz informed TVLine that "there's a real driving force behind what Emma is doing and why."
Horowitz added that previously Emma was a very clever character who did things for a reason. However, this does not imply fans should not be concerned about what Emma might do as the Dark One.
Co-creator Eddy Kitsis points out, "Emma is going to do something particularly bad and to the people she loves."
Kitsis continued teasing that he hopes there is a full moon this year, and it may be surprising who might return. The only implication is that Ruby is returning. In fact, TVLine confirmed that Meghan Ory will return for a number of episodes in season 5.
On the other hand, Hollywood Life has posted a trailer for the upcoming season, and it shows the introduction of Camelot (with King Arthur and more).
