"NCIS" season 13 cast member Michael Weatherly recently talked about Ziva's return and the guest stars that will join the hit CBS series.
In an interview with TV Line, Weatherly, who plays the role of Tony DiNozzo said, "I have come to understand that there will be, later in the year, some guest stars that will melt the avid 'NCIS' viewer's brain."
Meanwhile, "NCIS" showrunner Gary Glasberg was asked whether or not Ziva will return to season 13.
Glasberg quoted Weatherly and said that if Ziva will be back, it would certainly "melt the avid 'NCIS' viewer's brain."
In other news, Cote de Pablo previously opened up about her departure from "NCIS."
While at the 2015 Television Critics Association summer press tour, the actress said that she felt her departure was kind of rushed.
"I think it was rushed. I would have liked a little bit of closure," she said.
The actress' statements have led fans to speculate that Ziva will return because the execs of "NCIS" realized their mistake.
In order to avoid controversy and backlash, the series creators have decided to give Ziva a second chance on the show. However, it is unclear whether or not season 13 will serve as her character's much needed closure.
Luckily, Ziva was not exactly killed off on the show, contrary to rumors that she died.
"I think the fact that they never killed the character off is very telling," she teased.
"NCIS" season 13 will premiere on CBS on Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. ET.
