Now that the iPhone 6S duo are out, how will the next Samsung Galaxy flagship will measure up? The latest leaks suggest that the South Korean tech giant intends to out-spec its Cupertino-based rival in time for the Galaxy S7 release date in early 2016.
For starters, it looks like that Samsung will take on the same path that Apple has first established - the simultaneous release of two flagships, a regular-sized and a phablet model. According to BGR, the Galaxy maker is planning to unload two devices that will be part of its Galaxy S7 thrust in 2016. One will be a 5.2-inch handset that presumably is the sequel to the 5.1-inch Galaxy S6 and the other is a 5.8-inch jumbo phone.
It's quite obvious that the Samsung plan involves an epic slugfest of its 2016 flagships with the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, which Apple has just unveiled this week. However, it is unclear if the phablet-size S7 will be the follow up to the Galaxy S6 Plus or the Galaxy Note 5 - two handsets freshly debuted by Samsung.
What is clear though is the likely use of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 as the Galaxy S7 main engine, which BGR said was hinted in a new leaked info shared by NowhereElse.fr. Now this is a welcome development for both Sammy and Android fans as the SD 820 recently made news for apparently registering a score of 85,000 plus in an AnTuTu benchmark testing - one of the highest so far recorded for a mobile device.
If true, then the Galaxy S7 seems shaping up as a beast of a flagship but Samsung is not stopping there. The Korean device vendor has just announced its new DRAM chip technology that will allow the use of superfast and high energy-efficient RAM. PCs will enjoy 12GB of RAM provision that is 30% faster while mobile devices, smartphones for instance, will be able to accommodate up to 6GB of RAM with the same benefits delivered to desktop systems.
Provided the same DRAM technology is all set for mass deployment by early 2016 then it is highly likely that Samsung will first showcase a whopping 6GB of RAM with the Galaxy S7. Such memory chip specs paired with the SD 820, the S7 will surely rock as a multitasking monster that can handle simultaneous mobile computing tasks with great ease.
Rumors say Samsung will advance its Galaxy S7 release date plans as the company will likely push for a global rollout immediately after the 2016 Las Vegas CES in January instead of the usual early second quarter launch.
