NBA star Jeremy Lin has played on three different teams in his entire basketball career and he recently signed on with Charlotte Hornets, a fourth team, for a $5 million contract to last for two years.
The basketball star behind 2012's "Linsanity" craze recently answered some personal questions posed by his enthusiasts.
Initially posted in Quora, Lin unveiled that he talks Mandarin whenever he is asked whether he can speak Chinese. He said that he grew up hearing his family use it and took lessons lately. He also teased that he believes "it's really important to be able to speak the language."
Another fans wanted to know what NBA players do during their leisure time and Lin said that they enjoy spending their free time with family and friends because such an opportunity is rare in the basketball career. Furthermore, Lin said that whenever they are on the road, they visit places that are specific to the region like their landmarks, malls and renowned resort centers.
Known to be a committed Christian, Lin also acknowledged his faith when asked concerning his individual failures and mistakes.
Remembering his junior year in high school when he broke his ankle, which resulted into his team losing the play-offs, Lin said that the experience taught him to be humble since he initially used to harbor "a very terrible attitude and was very arrogant."
He added, "Often times, failure makes me re-evaluate what I need to get better at, whether it is on the court or as a person. God has frequently turned my shortcomings and failures into life-changing experiences."
Meanwhile, Lin shared through his Facebook page on how happy he is because his brother has joined Fubon Braves Basketball Team, a semi-professional team in the Super Basketball League of Taiwan.
