Broadcast channel AMC's "Fear the Walking Dead" will tackle a familiar predicament in military issues that the series' post-apocalyptic world survivors would face in the upcoming episodes.
On the recent episode last Sept. 20, the surviving characters of the zombie series wound up in different diabolical situations against the military. Former English teacher Travis and his son Chris realized that their speculations were through about the "living" outside the community's barricaded walls.
True enough, there are living people outside the said walls but not as friendly and as the survivors think. According to The Hollywood Reporter, there is a military group in charge of executing the sick under the order of Dr. Exner who wanted to protect what's left of the community.
In addition, Chris' ex-wife Liza was also recruited by the doctor to help the government in taking care of the sick people. Apparently, the said individuals include fellow zombie apocalypse survivors Griselda and Nick.
After other survivors were taken by the armed forces, Ofelia's character was speculated by fans to have her turning point. According to MTV News, actress Mercedes Mason who played the said character would definitely do something to get her mother, Griselda, away from the military's clutches.
Aside from the conflicts that the show's National Guard had inflicted in the characters, the television series' producer Dave Erickson hinted that the group of soldiers may or may not have diabolical intentions over the surviving members of the community.
Doing their job as soldiers, the show's producer stressed that the National Guard has the assumption to get rid of anyone who would might be sick. As a result, the resistance of other surviving individuals to the military's scrutiny may rouse the suspicion that the said survivors are definitely sick and are considered as threats.
At this point, the survival series' producer also suggested that the armed forces intended to gather the sick people to cure them and prevent them from turning. However, he stressed that the military's efforts may be the same as how the soldiers are seen in "The Walking Dead."
In the show's companion series, it could be remembered that Rick's friend Shane barricaded Rick's door in the hospital. As the former tried to escape, it could be seen that many soldiers are gunning down individuals who do not appear infected at all.
"Fear the Walking Dead" is aired on AMC Sundays at 9 p.m.
