"The Originals" season 3 episode 1 titled "For the Next Millennium" is set to air on The CW on Oct. 8. The horror drama series created by Julie Plec is expected to be renewed by the network for season 4.
It is said that come spring, The CW will renew "The Originals" for season 4, according to Zap2it. Produced by Warner Bros, "The Originals" season 3 has 44 episodes to its credit. Half of The CW is owned by CBS and half is owned by Warner Bros.
"The Originals" season 2 ended with a heart-breaking story and there are still no details whether or not fans can expect something positive for the Haylijah couple composed of Hayley Marshall (Phoebe Tonkin) and Elijah Mikaelson (Daniel Gillies) in the upcoming third season.
Plec told Entertainment Weekly, "There's always hope for Haylijah in the way that we planted the seeds for a relationship that clearly wants to happen."
However, there is bad news. Plec said Haylijah's relationship is "just blocked by a ridiculous amount of obstacles. "The Originals" showrunner said she would not say Hayley and Elijah will never get together because she thinks they have and at some point, they will again.
"Now, it's really just a matter of how can Jackson and Hayley find happiness in their marriage when there is that silent elephant in the room," Plec said referring to the characters played by Nathan Parsons and Tonkin.
Aside from playing Hayley in "The Originals" season 3, Tonkin is also set to star in "Take Down" opposite "Gossip Girl" alum Ed Westwick and "Friday Night Lights" alum Jeremy Sumpter.
