The new posters for "Nashville" Season 4 appears to reveal the fate of songwriter Deacon on his ongoing battle to liver cancer.
In the Season 3 finale of the said American series, the ill singer was brought by his sister to the hospital for a liver transplant surgery. However, fans are left hanging as the last scenes of the episode only showed one of the heart monitors have flatlined.
Based on the upcoming season's poster, the characters of Deacon, Juliette and Rayna were seen in the poster with the sick songwriter noticeably wearing a black suit. The series' supporters are worried that the black color signal bad news for the cancer-ridden singer even though there are no confirmations yet about the said character's death, according to Inquisitr.
In addition to the mounting clues of the ill singer's supposed demise, the return of an old series character appeared to suggest tragedy. According to Realty Today, singer Zoey Dalton will have a short return in the show which the shows' fans assumed as a sign for showing support in some sort of grieving situation.
Apparently, Deacon is also not seen in any of the new season's promotional videos which was presumably a ploy to keep the viewers guessing about the character's untimely end. However, the songwriter's closest friend and lover Rayna was heard in one of the short clips saying that she had to do a lot of letting go in the following days.
Despite all the hints to the cancer-ridden singer's death, other supporters of the drama show continue to hope that the surgery went well. Some fans insisted that the flatline does not necessarily mean that the patient will not be resuscitated anymore.
Aside from the supporters' theory about the controversial flatline scene, other fans of the show suggested that the couple's decision to get married after the songwriter's surgery may hint a wedding taking place in the upcoming episodes.
"Nashville" Season 4 will air today, Sept. 23 on ABC.
