With "Supergirl" premiere just months away, CBS has already unleashed some fresh, action-filled footage from the highly-anticipated superhero show in the latest promo.
According to IGN, previous trailers of "Supergirl" concentrate on footage from the show's pilot.
In addition to more scenes of star Melissa Benoist (Glee) portrayed as Superman's cousin, Kara Zor-El, the new trailer also features some new members of the rogue gallery she faces after choosing to eventually reveal herself to the world and become the hero she understands she can be.
Other cast members in the trailer include, Laura Benanti (Alura Zor-El), Mehcad Brooks (James Olsen), Calista Flockhart (Cat Grant), Jeremy Jordan (Winslow Schott), Chyler Leigh (Alex Danvers), Iddo Goldberg (Red Tornado), Jenna Dewan Tatum (Lois Lane's sister Lucy), Peter Facinelli (Maxwell Lord), and David Harewood (Hank Henshaw).
Dean Cain, who featured in "Lois & Clark" and 1984 "Supergirl" lead Helen Slater have also confirmed for unspecified roles.
"Supergirl" focuses on the adventures of 24-year-old Zor-El, who has kept her amazing powers a secret for so long after reaching the Earth from the doomed planet of Krypton. Currently working for the fierce media executive Flockhart, Zor-El tries to strike a balance between her life and protecting the world from all forms of super-power threats.
Meanwhile, executive producers Ali Adler from "No Ordinary Family" and Greg Berlanti from "Arrow" and "The Flash" have co-written the pilot episode of "Supergirl," Digital Trends reported. Furthermore, the series is a joint production of CBS and DC Entertainment, and speculations have it that a crossover with fellow DC Comics television series "Arrow" and "The Flash" could be likely in case "Supergirl" sets off early enough.
"Supergirl" will debut on Oct. 26, Monday, at 8.30 p.m. ET before shifting to a recurring time slot Mondays at 8.00 p.m. ET from Nov. 2.
