Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and the rest of the cast will be putting on their scrubs again and get on to save lives this Thursday. However, fans can expect lots of changes in the post-Derek Shepherd era wherein Meredith begins a journey of a life of a single mother with her three kids.
According to synopsis for "Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 Episode 1 on ABC's official website, the day at the hospital begins with a new medical emergency that needs the doctors to save the lives of two young girls. Their story reminds residents of any bullying incident that they have experienced in the past and how it changed their lives.
Meanwhile, Meredith struggles with new living arrangements at her place. She has two new roommates, Maggie (Kelly McCreary) and Amelia (Caterina Scorsone). Fans can expect to see some conflicts as the three girls try to adapt to the changes.
Entertainment publication E! Online obtained a new sneak peek for "Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 Episode 1 "Sledgehammer." The video gives a glimpse of how it's going to be with the three ladies under one roof. Meredith and Amelia can be seen ranting about making adjustments with each other. Back at the hospital, Jackson prepares himself for the return of his wife April. The premiere segment is expected to reveal the fate of the couple. Whether they are still together or not--since April chose to go back to the camp despite Jackson's disapproval--still remains a question.
Further, Bailey's fight to become the new Chief of surgery is going to get intense as her competition arrives when the show premieres. Watch out for Joey Lauren Adams' character, who happens to be Catherine's candidate for the post. Fans can also expect to see more of new interns when the show returns.
Meanwhile, fans can look forward to new storylines as some new characters arrive in Seattle. At the same time, the classic characters will be seen moving on with their lives. The season-opener is expected to give a glimpse of Jo and Alex's domestic life, Catherine and Richard's life as a married couple and Callie and Arizona's life after separation.
