Grey Cristina Yang Comparison "Grey's Anatomy" season 12 star Jerrika Hinton recently opened up about her character Stephanie Edwards' fate on the hit ABC series.
In an interview with She Knows Soap, Hinton said that it is very possible for Stephanie to be interested in a new man in season 12.
Meanwhile, the actress also weighed in on comparisons that she and Camilla Luddington's Jo character could be compared to Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh).
According to the actress, the comparison brings her so much pressure because she understands that the ABC series is really about Meredith.
Additonally, Hinton said that no one could ever replace the friendship and relationship that Merdith and her "person" Cristina shared for the past ten seasons.
"I think they will continue to explore that dynamic between close friends and competitive co-workers and somebody being more relationship-oriented and somebody else perhaps being more ambitious career-wise," she said.
In other news, more information about Stephanie's character and her past will be revealed in season 12.
"As she continues to find her way in the world of Grey Sloan, you'll find out more about her and where she comes from - how and why she's in this place, and why she is the kind of person that has no compunction about speaking out about what she feels is right," she explained.
Last season, Stephanie dated Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) for a brief period of time. However, the latter decided to break up with her when he chose April Kepner (Sarah Drew).
"Grey's Anatomy" season 12 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
