Notes, despite being one of the most ignored feature of Facebook, recently received a major overhaul. The update, which the company started testing in August, will make Notes more customizable and will now sport an easy to use user interface.
Facebook made the announcement on its official Newsroom posting, "We're rolling out an update to make notes on Facebook more beautiful and customizable. Notes are now an even better way to write longer pots and share with anyone - whether it's a small group of friends or everyone on Facebook."
According to NDTV, the revamp Facebook made on Notes makes it more like the blogging platform Medium. Facebook updated Notes' interface which makes the feature more ideal for longer-form stories.
Many tech analysts said that the upgrade on the Notes feature could mean that Facebook is planning to dip its toes on the blogging platform. The update includes resizing of images as well as the ability to put captions on it. Users now have the ability to add headers, quotes and bullets. All these features are standard in the blogging platform. Facebook also include new and visually appealing layouts which makes it more of a blogging platform rather than just an outlet to post extra-long statuses.
The update will allow Notes users to upload larger cover phones, user tagging, wider pages and a clear headline. The upgrade will also allow users to filter who they want to access or read their Notes, a feature which can be done to their status posts.
The update was first spotted in August, which was rolled-out to select users as part of its testing phase. Notes made using these new features
