Korean-based Technology giant LG just recently unveiled two new additions to their innovation collections - the new LG V10 smartphone and LG's latest smartwatch Watch Urbane 2nd Edition.
The new smartwatch has circular display just like its predecessor though the new LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition is an Android wear that is equipped with a built-in radio which can connect to either LTE or 3G for internet or data connection, Engadget reported.
According to Wired, the new LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition doesn't need any smartphone to connect to the Internet because of its built in cellular connection for data and calls.
It is said that LG's new smartwatch is the first cellular-connected smart weable to be introduced in the market. Just like the first version of LG Watch Urbane, the 2nd edition is very stylish and has a luxury feel. Compared to its predecessor, the new LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition is more refined and more of a high-end class as it is equipped with a larger screen of 1.38-inch P-OLED display. It may be equipped with the same 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 just like the Urbane 1st Edition but it comes with a better resolution of 480x480.
Other features that the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition has is a 4GB internal storage, runs with 768MB RAM plus sports built-in GPS.
Since the new LG Watch Urbane 2 is a combination of Android wear and LTE, this would mean that there's a possibility of more internet-connected applications a wearer can use even without a WiFi or a smartphone. Since the new LG watch is just like a standalone device, LG also upgraded its battery capacity from its predecessor's 410 mAh to 570 mAh, in which, they've also integrated a power saving mode to make sure that the watch can live up on how 3G or 4G connection can drain one's device.
The LG Watch Urbane 2 will first be available in the U.S and Korea but no information yet was given in regards to its availability and price.
