Cindy Barshop, a former cast of "The Real Housewives of New York City" just opened a female spa on the Upper East Side called VSPOT. The spa offers a treatment for the vagina using laser.
The New York Post reports that by undergoing FemiLift, using fractional C02 laser that Barshop, CEO of the spa, says is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, women's private parts would have increased circulation and lubrication as it tightens the area.
It is expected to improve a woman's sex drive, enhance pleasure and stimulate desire. The three or four treatments, which lasts 10 minutes each, cost $1,500. The spa offers a four-session package deal of $3,450, or a discounted rate of $862 per session, which the customer must pay upfront.
Barshop says the laser also treats incontinence which affects libido. And the natural side effect of FemiLift, says VSPOT's website, is "You'll desire sex again." She adds the laser process feels like other procedures done to women when they visit their OB-Gyn.
Realitea reports that Barshop used to own several spas named Completely Bare Spas, offering the laser treatment. However, when she was fired from the show, she reportedly suffered financially and was forced to close some of the spas in 2011. Her opening of VSPOT indicates she may be recovering now financially.
Bodysculpt, another establishment that offers the treatment, explains that aging, obesity or multiple vaginal childbirths cause vaginal relaxation which often leads to sexual dissatisfaction for the woman and her partner. FemiLift, it said, is a safe alternative to traditional rejuvenation procedures for the female genitalia such as labiaplasty and vaginoplasty.
These procedures, including, FemiLift, have been showing an increase in demand, according to the American Society for Plastic Surgeons.
