For the first time in a decade, Will Smith is returning back to music. The actor made the declaration while talking on a radio show that he is working on his music and will head for a world tour with DJ Jazzy Jeff in 2016.
The actor was speaking on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 radio show on Oct. 5, Monday, when he announced that he has recorded more than 30 songs, out of which he is fond of six or seven tracks and is giving final touch-up to them.
Smith also revealed that he will embark on a world tour in the summer of 2016, alongside DJ Jazzy Jeff with whom had released his breakthrough album "He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper" in 1988, The Guardian reported. His last album "Lost And Found" came in 2005 after which he apparently started focusing more on movies.
Over the time, it seems that Smith's acting career overshadowed his musical one which is otherwise emblazoned with four Grammy Awards, four Top 10 singles and sale of over 20 million albums.
During the interview, Smith also revealed how he has hired a slew of young artists and "philosophers" to help him on his musical comeback, but laughed off the belief that getting older does hinder creativity, saying "I guess 40 is the new 30."
Meanwhile, the "Men In Black" star dropped his new single in ten years by guesting with a rap on the track "Fiesta" by Colombian dance act Bomba Estéreo. The 47-year-old actor has revealed earlier that he was working with Kanye West on a few singles, New York Post reported.
