No leads on the suspects and their possible motives have been established so far, and police have sought the cooperation of the Cypress community and the media in providing any information on the case.

"This was a serious and miserable case. Police made the preliminary judgment that this was a murder case," Harris County Police Chief Adrian Garcia said in a new conference.

The victims were found to have been shot at least once in the head, according to doctors at the Harris medical institute. Interestingly, none of the neighbors could attest to having heard any shots fired.

The Cypress community has about 2,000 families, many of them of Chinese descent. Neighbors said the last time they saw the husband was on Jan. 24 when he went to work. After that, his coworkers noticed his absence, so they had alerted the police.

Teachers at a local Chinese school also said the boys, aged seven and nine, were usually brought to class by their mother every weekend. They said they sensed something was wrong when the boys didn't show up in class on January 26.

Police went to check on the family on Jan. 30 and found the victims' dead bodies, the back door of their home open and some windows broken.  From the two cars in the garage, they found records identifying the husband as MaoyeSun, 50, and the wife as MeiXie, 49.

"Basically we are calling the Asian community, the Chinese community, if you know something, call the officer," said Charlie Zheng, president of the Bilingual Chinese Journalists Association.

The family's friends and members of the Chinese community are holding a candlelight vigil on Saturday afternoon, February 8, to bring attention to the case.
