The new Surface Pro 4 was released during the Microsoft Windows 10 devices event in New York last Oct. 6.
Microsoft Surface Pro line is the company's attempt to replace any other laptop, claiming that the new Surface Pro 4 is 50 percent faster than Apple's latest 13-inch MacBook Air. It added that it is sleek and elegantly designed tablet that contains full of accessories that enhance user experience, International Business Times reported.

Software and storage
Surface Pro 4: Running with Windows 10 OS. The device is powered by Intel's new Skylake CPUs (Core m3, Core i5, and Core i7 configurations available) and features integrated Iris Pro graphics. It runs under the latest Windows 10 Pro. It features 16GB of RAM and comes in many configurations, from the different processors to the storage options (128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB).
MacBook Air: It runs under the latest OS X El Capitan and is powered by Intel Core i7 clocked at 2.2GHz and runs Intel HD 6600 GPU for the graphics. It offers up to 8GB of RAM paired with 128GB and 256GB options (customers can configure the MacBook Air with other options when they order).
Display, exterior design and measurement
Surface Pro 4: Its 12.3-inch display has 2736x1824 screen resolution with 267 ppi. The screen is covered in 0.4mm Gorilla Glass and has a very thin 1.1m backlight unit. It measures 11.5x7.9x0.33 inches and weighs 1.73 pounds. It also has a special Touch Chipset, developed by Microsoft and dedicated to the stylus and touchscreen operations. The device is built out of aluminum alloy and has the typical sleek, but solid appearance of Microsoft's Surface Pro line.
MacBook Air: It has a 13.3-inch non-touch and non-Retina display with 1440 x 900 screen resolution and 128 ppi. The device measures 12.8x8.9x0.68 inches and weighs 2.96 pounds.
Battery life
Surface Pro 4: Microsoft claims that the Surface Pro 4 can get up to 9 hours of video playback.
MacBook Air: The battery can last up to 12 hours video playback.

Surface Pro 4: It contains USB 3.0 port, a microSD card reader, a Mini Display Port, headphone jack, cover port, and surface connect
MacBook Air: This is probably the biggest edge of MacBook Air, containing more ports, according to Wired. Apple's MacBook Air ports include two USB 3.0, Thunderbolt 2, Magsafe 2 Power, and SDXC card slot.

Surface Pro 4: It has active stylus and optional removable keyboard. The stylus of Surface Pen comes in in five different colors, including gold. The type cover features a backlit keyboard with scissor mechanisms and a precision glass trackpad. It starts $899.
