Joan Rivers tragically passed away earlier this month when complications rose during her throat operation.

"It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my mother. She passed peacefully at 1:17 p.m. surrounded by family and close friends. My son and I would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Mount Sinai Hospital for the amazing care they provided for my mother," said Melissa.

On addition to that, Melissa also stated that she and Cooper found themselves humbled by the outpouring of love, support, and prayers that they received from around the world.

And even if it is hard to make people laugh right now, she said that we will continue to share the happiness soon because she knows that it's her mother's greatest joy in life.

The world continues to sympathize with the Rivers family as they suffer from a great loss and hopes that they feel better soon.

"Fashion Police" is a television series that first aired in Sept. 10, 2010 and since then; it has brought laughter to its viewers.
