The next Super Smash Bros DLC character is the Shovel Knight. At least that is the clamor if Nintendo fans would have it their way but the latest reports are pointing to the contrary.
For one, Shovel Knight developer Yacht Club Games has already denied that the character will soon become a downloadable character for millions of Smash Bros fans. Still, the rumors continue to swirl and iDigitalTimes seems convinced that gamers wish will come true.
The publication and other reports offer seemingly solid indicators why Shovel Knight would join the Super Smash fun:
Too good to pass up
The specter of Shovel Knight adding new dimension to the Smash Bros franchise is the perfect holiday upgrade gift to fans, more so to Nintendo diehards. As the report suggested, the much-awaited character on the game will trigger throwback memories that translate to further interest on the already popular game.
For Nintendo, this opportunity is hard to ignore. Shovel Knight on Super Smash will surely be a gamers' magnet and the commercial benefits it entails should prompt Nintendo and Yacht Club to just go ahead with the rumored collaboration.
Shovel Knight Amiibo figure
It's the perfect package - Shovel Knight on Smash Bros while fans have the option of snapping the character in Amiibo figure. According to iDigitalTimes, this has been confirmed save for the exact release date though initial reports pointed to a likely debut on November 27.
Now that plays well with the supposed next Smash Bros DLC provision in time for the Christmas month of December, that is if rumors are to be believed. At any rate, Shovel Knight on Amiibo and Smash Bros is a surefire hit.
Good path to the future
In a Yibada report, Super Smash Bros is seen to further flourish in the future likely with the rumored Nintendo NX release date in 2016 and regular DLC deliveries that cater to request by fans. And a downloadable Shovel Knight surely breaks the ground that lead to a thriving future for Nintendo and its legion of supporters.
