It is rumored that "Elder Scrolls 6" release date is either in 2016 or early 2017 and game developer Bethesda is working on a multi-player mode for the series of roleplaying games while keeping it under wraps until something is finalized.
It was speculated earlier that "Elder Scrolls 6" will be released before the end of this year but much to the disappointment of the fans, the upcoming title will however not be coming out this year.
The earlier titles of the franchise namely "Oblivious", "Morrowind", and "Skyrim" enjoyed immense success in the market.
The reason which is being cited for the delay of the upcoming title is that game developer Bethesda SoftWorks is working with priority on releasing "Fallout 4" on time.
"Fallout 4" is a multi-player game, making it evident that Bethesda wants to work on multi-player games only at the moment. This may be another reason that that are holding the completion and release of "Elder Scrolls 6."
In addition, the game developing giant is currently accessing the enhancements which are needed to be done in the upcoming title of "Elder Scrolls," to give it a better quality and better content.
Other multi player titles under Bethesda are "Dishonored 2" and "Doom," as well as many DLC's of the previously released single player games like "Battle Cry." Hence, the company will first release the "Fallout 4" game before shifting its focus on "Elder Scrolls 6."
Meanwhile, the DLC of "Elder Scrolls Online" received a good response, according to Game Spot.
Bethesda Softworks' VP of PR and Marketing Pine Hine confirmed in an interview with the Telegraph that the upcoming game will not be based on "Morrowind" or "Oblivion."
