Among the featured applications in the show were the in-vehicle systems with the capability to check if there are nearby parking lots, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) that monitor environmental conditions in paddy fields.

The featured UAV was equipped with eight arms attached with cameras and sensors that monitor humidity, temperature, plant growth and air quality. It was utilized to oversee unmilled rice fields located on Chongming Island in Shanghai, according to marketing manager Sun Dong of the Shanghai Agriculture Information Co.

Sun also said that the UAV helps in monitoring the paddy fields' growth conditions, which will make potential complications less of a problem by allowing farmers to deal with them earlier.

Aside from agriculture, the IOT can also be used in the automobile industry. For instance, cars can be connected with mobile phones and other possible applications.

One of the highlights in the show was from Qoros. The company has an in-vehicle application that searches for nearby vacant parking spaces and their fees. The application can be used by paying only 300 yuan ($49) per year.

According to industry officials, an estimated 10 billion yuan will be generated by using the IOT applications in the healthcare and diagnostics sector.
