In preparation for the rising Chinese tourism market in Australia, a workshop is going to be hosted by the Eurobodalla Shire Council in New South Wales.
The free workshop is called "Chinese Introduction" and will be held in two consecutive days, first on Nov. 5 at the Moruya Golf Club and on Nov. 6 at the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club. The workshop will start at five in the afternoon.
According to the Australian government's "Trade at a Glance 2012" issue, Australia's top one trading partner is China, which also leads Australia's list for inbound tourism.
Lindsay Brown, the mayor of Eurobodalla, said that Chinese tourists have become a significant part in driving the economy of Australia in the past years.
"This workshop is a fantastic opportunity to see the simple things your business can do to succeed in this market," said Mayor Brown.
The mayor also mentioned that they want to help Australian businesses learn more and be informed of China's rich culture along with its tourism market.
"If you are looking at China and the Chinese as a potential market, I encourage you to attend," the mayor coaxed.
Brown also said that non-tourism businessmen or anyone interested in the Chinese market is welcome to attend as there are more opportunities besides tourism itself.
According to Brown, they approached Richard Beere, Fastrak Asian Solutions specialist, to handle the free "Chinese Introduction" workshop. Beere worked for over 25 years as a senior manager based in Asia. He also took part in making Australia's "Approved Destination Status" in China possible. Beere also spearheaded Tourism Australia's "Welcoming Chinese Visitors" program.
