Social media giant Facebook has recently announced new tools that will give users more control over what they see on their News Feed.

One of the key features released is the ability to view which user or page appears most on people's News Feed.

A new tab, Manage News Feed, will be added under the News Feed options. This will allow users to find out which of their liked pages, friends or groups have filled up their News Feed within the past week.

Like Us on Facebook

Facebook said that each user's News Feed heavily depends on who and which pages he or she usually interacts with. If a user frequently likes or comments on another user's page, the latter user would appear more on the former user's feed. Additionally, photo and status-updates tags are taken into consideration.

Previously, users can only unfollow certain pages and people as well as hide specific posts that they do not want to see without unfriending or blocking the source of the post.

With the new update, users can now choose to "See Less," which will limit the quantity of similar posts.

Another new feature allows users to view a Summary page that shows all the pages, groups and people that a user may have unfollowed, which gives users the option to follow them again.

Facebook News Feed's product management director Adam Mosseri said that more News Feed options, tools and customization settings will be introduced in the future. The settings may include a sort option for organizing posts by topic.
