The successful screening of "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" in the United States seems to have prompted organizers to take the animated movie to other territories around the world.
The latest reports indicate that the manga anime film hit the Australian shores and New Zealand from Oct. 15-21, according to Otaku Study. Publisher Madman Entertainment released the film in selected theaters across the country. The Australian anime and manga Publishing Corporation secured local rights for a number of popular titles including "Neon Genesis Evangelion," "One Piece," "Dragon Ball," "Akira," and a variety of the Studio Ghibli collection.
Madman Entertainment marked the special occasion by collaborating with Cosplay film experts Deerstalker Pictures to develop a funny live-action clip featuring Naruto and Boruto involved in a friendly battle out in the woods. The fan-made movie as well brought other supporting characters to life including Kakashi, Sasuke, and Sakura, PC Authority reported.
The most recent film in the "Naruto" franchise focuses on the strange relationship between Naruto Uzumaki, the Seventh Hokage, and his son Boruto. The son is determined to prove his worth in the eyes of his fathers. As a result, the hotheaded and obstinate Boruto trains under Sasuke Uchiha - his father's friend and occasional rival.
Currently, "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" is the highest crossing movie in the manga series after its release in Japan on Aug. 7. The film is the 11 installment in the franchise directed by Hiroyuki Yamashita.
