A major music business publication managed to create an online uproar when it tweeted a sexually derogatory remark about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's daughter, North West.
The backlash triggered when Billboard tweeted a picture of the reality TV star along with her two-year-old daughter, who is seen licking a lollipop, along with the remark, "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree ..."
The tweet also carried a link to an article about the toddler telling paparazzi not to click her. The article carried a video in which she is seen on her way to ballet classes with her nanny when she says, "I said no pictures."
As soon as the tweet became viral, Billboard became the target of intense online backlash wherein the commentators slammed the publication for targeting North and portraying the child in a wrong way, calling the tweet as "disgusting" and "gross."
"North West is 2 yrs old @billboard. Tell the mountain climber who plays an electric guitar running your social media to stay in their lane," read a tweet.
Billboard was quick to pacify the situation by tweeting the video link and photo with a different caption, but continued to receive the criticism and managed to create quite a stir in social media The Guardian reported.
The publication later apologized in a tweet about commenting about the celebrity-child by remarking that the seemingly derogatory caption was about North's comment to paparazzi and was not seen in the light it was originally intended
Meanwhile, the toddler is apparently busy in the Halloween celebration. Her proud mother shared her picture on Instagram in which she is seen dressed as Princess Elsa from "Frozen," along with her cousin Penelope who is seen in the getup of Princess Ana.
Recently the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star revealed to Hello! Magazine that her toddler is quite obsessed with her curly hair and gets anxious if she does not have them at the time.
