The Tennessee Titans (1-6) are on a downward spiral this season and much more now that second-overall pick Marcus Mariota is out with a knee injury. They visit the surging New Orleans Saints (4-4) at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on November 8 for a Week 9 matchup as the 2015 NFL season moves forward.
Tennessee is on a six-game slide after winning their season opener against Tampa Bay last month. Their last match was a horrible 20-6 loss to the Houston Texans at the NRG Stadium on November 1st, via NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk.
Zach Mettenberger continues to fill in for Mariota's quarterback chores, but the two-year pro has not been effective for head coach Ken Whisenhunt so far, especially after the one interception and seven-sack performance against the Texans on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Saints are on a three-game winning run that began with an upset victory over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6.
New Orleans is coming off a tough 52-49 escape against the New York Giants also at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome last Sunday with a last-second field goal by recently acquired kicker Kai Forbath, as per Yahoo Sports.
Quarterback Drew Brees was magnificent in the game, throwing an NFL-record tying seven touchdowns, passing an almost flawless 39-of-50 for 505 yards with two interceptions and no sacks.
Brees is expected to carry over his superb performance in this game against the reeling Titans on Sunday and Tennessee will have no answer for him and his crew on defense.
Prediction: Saints win, 28-14.
