Although details of the highly anticipated "Expendables 4" movie remain scarce, the latest rumors suggest that the production is currently on its way. It was recently confirmed that some parts of the film will be shot in China, as part of the agreement between NU Image/Millennium and SP International Pictures.
According to Variety, some scenes in the movie may be shot in China, however, other locations are still being considered. The outlet also reported that the director and cast has yet to be confirmed although it was pointed out that the production company is determined to maintain the picture's "all-action star formula."
It was said that they are currently eyeing a budget not less than $100 million. "Expendables 4" is expected to start shooting by 2016 and premiere on 2017.
Former cast members Jason Statham, Jet Li, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, among others are reportedly eager to return in the next film. It has also been long rumored that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Jackie Chan have both expressed interest in being part of the franchise.
According to Crossmap, in a recent Reddit AMA, The Rock said that he will be willing to be part of the cast. He, however, added that he would only do it if he was on the other team. He explained that he does not want to be "buddies" with Sylvester Stallone and instead wanted to beat every single one of them up.
Jackie Chan, on the other hand, has reportedly been approached by Stallone to be part of the movie. The action star, however, declined as he was only given a cameo role. He claimed that he wanted to be more involved in the movie.
